6.9 Fuel Line

1.   Remove seat. See SEAT (Page 3-113).

2.   Purge fuel line. See PURGE FUEL LINE (Page 6-9).

3.   Remove main        fuse.   See POWER         DISCONNECT
     (Page 8-4).

REMOVE

                          A WARNING
Gasoline is extremely flammable and highly explosive.
Keep gasoline away from ignition sources which could

To prevent spray of fuel, purge system of high-pressure
fuel before supply line is disconnected. Gasoline is
extremely flammable and highly explosive, which could
result in death or serious injury. (00275a)

1.   See Figure 6-10. Disconnect the fuel line at fuel rail.

     a.    Pull to remove RH V-side cover (1).

     b.    Push in on the sleeve of the quick disconnect fitting
           (2).

     c.    Pull on the fuel line to disconnect (3).

2.   See Figure 6-11. Remove front tank mount screws.

3.   See Figure 6-12. Raise fuel tank.

     a.    Remove rear bolt.

4.   See Figure 6-13. Disconnect fuel pump connector.

5.   See Figure 6-14. Remove fuel line.

     a.    Pry up on tabs to release lock (1).

     b.    Remove fuel line (2) from fuel pump (3).

                                                          INSTALL

                                                          1.   See See Figure 6-13.. Install fuel line.
    1.      Fuel tank mounting bracket bolt
    2.      Fuel tank mounting bracket bushing assembly
    3.      Fuel tank mounting bracket                         a.    Position fuel line (2).

                                                          1.   Install seat. See SEAT (Page 3-113).

                                                          2.   Install main       fuse.   See   POWER      DISCONNECT

                                                          3.   Turn ignition on and check for leaks.
