PREPARE

If removing right side footpeg bracket:

1.   See Figure 3-137. Remove muffler shield screw (1).

REMOVE AND INSTALL: FOOTPEGS

Remove

1.   See Figure 3-135. Press spring loaded clevis pin catch

2.   Remove passenger footrest (1) and ball and spring (5).

Install
1.   See Figure 3-135. While holding ball and spring (5) in place
     with finger, insert footrest (1) into bracket (3), guiding ball
     toward ball seat (4).

2.   Install clevis pin (2).

Disassemble and Assemble
1.   See Figure 3-136. Disassemble footrest.                                1.     Footpeg insert

     c.    Remove footrest insert (1).                                 REMOVE AND INSTALL: BRACKET

2.   Assemble footrest.                                                       FASTENER                       TORQUE VALUE

     a.    Install footrest insert (1) into footrest (3).

     b.    Install footrest support (2).                                                       NOTE
                                                                       Disassembly and assembly is similar for left and right bracket.
     c.    Install screw (4). Tighten.
           Torque: 159-177 in-lbs (18-20 N·m) Footpad insert
           screw
                                                                       Remove
                                                                       1.   See Figure 3-137. Remove screws (2, 3).

                                                                       2.   Remove bracket.

                                                                       Install
                                                                       1.   See Figure 3-137. Install bracket.

2.   Install screws (2, 3). Tighten both screws.           COMPLETE
     Torque: 15--18 ft-lbs (21-25 N·m) Passenger footpeg

                                                           If right footpeg bracket was removed:

                                                           1.   See Figure 3-137. Install exhaust shield screw (1). Tighten.
