6.13 Fuel Pump

PREPARE

                        A WARNING
Gasoline is extremely flammable and highly explosive.
Keep gasoline away from ignition sources which could
result in death or serious injury. See the Safety chapter.

                        A WARNING

Do not use solvents or other products that contain chlorine
on plastic fuel system components. Chlorine can degrade
plastic fuel system components, which can cause a loss
of fuel system pressure or engine stalling and could result
in death or serious injury. (00621 b)

                           NOTE
Carefully inspect tubes for damage. Even a small hole can

                                                               INSTALL
1.   Purge fuel line. See PURGE FUEL LINE (Page 6-9).

3.   Remove seat. See SEAT (Page 3-113).
                                                                      a.      Hold pump assembly (1) pointing rearward and insert

                                                                      c.      Install new screws (3). Tighten using a star pattern.

     c.    Remove fuel pump assembly (4) from fuel tank (5).

COMPLETE                                                          4.   Install seat. See SEAT (Page 3-113).

2.   Connect fuel line to fuel rail. See FUEL LINE (Page 6-10).
                                                                  6.   Turn ignition on and check for leaks.
