WHEEL ALIGNMENT 3.12
INSPECT ADJUST
Checking Wheel Alignment FASTENER TORQUE VALUE
Axle nut, rear 95-105 ft-lbs 129-142 N·m
1. See Figure 3-27. Using a steel rule, measure the distance
(4) between adjuster (2) and finished surface on both sides. 1. Inspect wheel alignment. See Inspect in this section.
2. Verify measurements match on both sides of axle. Adjust 2. NOTE
as necessary. See Adjust (Page 3-27). Do not remove E-c/ip (5) when loosening rear axle nut.

3. Adjust rear axle.
a. Turn axle adjuster nut (1) counterclockwise to
shorten distance on the side with the longer distance
(4).
b. Adjust axle until left and right side alignment
measurements match.
4. Verify drive chain deflection. See INSPECT AND ADJUST
DRIVE CHAIN AND SPROCKETS (Page 2-27).
5. Tighten rear axle nut.
